Yeah, I wonder why they don't use more powerful diodes to sustain it, then again it's a dead short and can be quite a bit of current coming from a car battery.
It will work, I would replace it just in case. Just any simple >30V 50A+ diode. I would replace the other one as well, make sure you have 2 or more. Some of the amps I've seen have 5 or more. :p Just replace the two to have identical sets.

not companies fault for people not double checking.
I'm not saying it's a bad thing, but rather that they should put something a little bit bigger with something such as a TO-247 or bigger package in it rather than a T3(I think) package to stand the dissipation. I immediately countered my statement with the logic of, it's a dead short from a multi thousand amp power supply, so the only thing that could handle that is if it was in a brick package with a LOT of cooling, even then, it's not due to dissipation but rather the current handle rating. :p In other words, it's designed to blow.

Anyways, yeah.
