thanks man, i sent u a PM but disregardYeah, I wonder why they don't use more powerful diodes to sustain it, then again it's a dead short and can be quite a bit of current coming from a car battery.
It will work, I would replace it just in case. Just any simple >30V 50A+ diode. I would replace the other one as well, make sure you have 2 or more. Some of the amps I've seen have 5 or more.Just replace the two to have identical sets.
