Uh oh.....van gogh

Well after an out of the blue stereo shop visit today and finding out the shipping cost back and forth to RE are not covered under warranty repairs to Hawaii and would cost just as much as buying a new sub, I decided on getting a JL 12w7 in the H.O. Wedge. However, my friend found out that I was looking for an amp and bought me a Soundstream Van Gogh, and now I'm not sure the 12W7 is going to work with that amp. The H.O. Box is wired at 3 ohms but the amp puts out 1600 @ 4ohms. Is there anyway to use this amp so... or did my friend just waste her money??? All I can say is..... Oops

you got the 1600.2? if you do it does 1600 rms @ 4 ohms bridged which means that you wont get any power @ 3 ohms, well your amp will probably throw itself into protect (dont quote me though). i havent heard of these amps being able to run

only one way to find out. and praying for a little impedance rise might help.
