ok guys so when i turn my sub on, its not very loud, i can hear the door speakers actually getting louder then the sub, but some sub sound is present, the weird thing is i was listening to it all day and it was fine, then i just got in my car, popped in a cd and this happens ? so like... did i blow the amp ( it turns on) or sub (doubtful?) weirddd thanks guys.

p.s. crunch 1000, atlas 12 @ 1 ohm.

Did the gain vibrate down on your amp, did you disconnect the batt at all so the HU reset and all the setting were erased? If your amp was toast it probably wouldnt work at all. If the sub was toasted it would stink and and probably sound god awful if it worked.

ya man thats the confusing thing, the gain and all the settings on the amp are fine, the h/u was never disconnected, its really weird, especially b/c it was working fine earlier today, and to top it all off, the sub still kind of hits, and the amp turns on, the blue "crunch" lettering lights up also, what it does is it will hit for like 2 or 3 beats and then fizzle down, i just installed all new kicker 4 awg along with a car battery inline to keep my headlights from dimming

WTF ?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif  //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

its a hifonics atlas, 2 ohm, and i think it's blown,

it will hit once, but then just makes weird noise as it tries to hit, kind of like a vibration / hit. and the amp turns on, and that one hit it does tells me the amp can't be blown... i think.. ???

what do you guys think ?

its wired to 1 ohm, the amp is 1 ohm stable

most of the time when you blow your sub it stinks, and i kno this cause my one buddy just did it to his subs so i had to give him some of mine until he got his replaced and they stank and then the box still stinks but not as bad.

check the tinsel leads on your woofer. two of mine came loose and it would work and then not work so finally i took the sub out and saw this and sautered the tinsel and everything is great now.

ya man i looked at the tinsels, they're fine, i think i did something i shouldn't have though, my lights were dimming pretty bad, so i wired in a 2nd car battery, and im wondering if that car battery can't keep up with the voltage drop, b/c it's not deep cycle and not really made for car audio... ??? do you think thats it

thats shouldnt be it extra batts can only help as long as you arent mixing different types
