Ugh!! What Now!

Ugh getting so irritated. WELL, today i found that my previous power cable had gotten in a fight with my hood hinge in the corner and ended up taking a good chunk out of it. Thought it might have something to do with all of my trouble i have been having.

So i go to my local car audio shop and pic up 14 feet of 4g power wire. Put my old inline fuse on it, and then go through the trouble of running it through my car again.

THE WIRE SAYS PRIMARY WIRE ON IT. I was always to believe that all the wire was the same. Well when i put the fuse and shit on, i turn my car on. It blows the fuse. The wire was ran into a distro block and then to the amps. So i turn the car off, take the amp out, go to put a new one in and when the fuse touches the metal on the holder it gets a huge spark. So i say ok, unhook the positive of the battery and then put the fuse in the holder and then go to attach the power wire back to the bat. Well again, huge sparks.

What did i do wrong. Im so confused. I though power wire was power wire.

either your new power wire is still touching metal, or the amp is probably blown

its not touching metal. im sure of that. And i have 2 amps. Both off the same distro block and grounded to the same point. Also the remote wire is daisy chained. The sub amp first and then the speaker amp. Which has been given me problems lately

Dumb question, but you do have it hooked up to positive on the battery and amp right?

yeah lol. Last time i hooked it up to negative and was stumped as to why my amps had no power

Why was your power cable anywhere near a hinge?

i tried putting it on the battery and then into the distro block. And it still sparked at the block, even with the car off. Should i get a new fuse holder? It seemed like the part on one side of the fuse that holds the fuse in place was loose and shaking around

have you double checked that you have 2 power wires coming out of your distro and not a power and ground?

yup. ground are from the amps to grounding points. Two power wires coming out of the distro block. Going into the separate amps.

disconnect the amps and give the wire power again
