lol... i think that some people take these things way to serious. I personally think that we should worry about stretching outwards and seeing what is around us, not what mystical things are coming and visiting us in the night, only to whisk away just as we think we see them.

I have a somewhat belief in them, and i have my own understanding of things. But limit kid, ease up when people make a few jokes, besides, maybe outer space species do have different ways of sound production, and reproduction... after all, there is more then one way to do something, with different results, benefits, flaws, and reprecussions.

And anyways, when did aliens become so mystic and magical, after all the definition for alien is

1. An unnaturalized foreign resident of a country. Also called noncitizen.
   
2. A person from another and very different family, people, or place.
   
3. A person who is not included in a group; an outsider.
   
4. A creature from outer space: science fiction about an invasion of aliens.

The english were aliens to the natives of north america, rabbits were aliens when they were introduced to australlias habitat, japanese is an alien language to me.

What do i think aliens are?

Well, I dont think they are anything we can take from any movies we have had of them, nor will we know unless they show up and we some how figure it out. Their language could be any system of clicks, pauses, tones, loudness, or, it could be a speechless language... Many animals communicate through releasing chemicals and having another animal of their species respond to the smell of those chemicals. Why stop at that form of communication, after all, your computer communicates with other systems and responds by displaying information so that you can send information that will be converted back to information that can be sent back to the system, so that other computers can access this information and display it to its owner.

Which makes you wonder about quite a few things, but to answer one question that i think no one has said directly yet, is, why havent these outer space aliens come down to earth and attemted to communicate with us yet? Well, i know one answer that would make me not want to come down to this planet and communicate with you guys (lol), if you were to consider our history, then it might just stick out to you like a telephone pole in a hay stack.

WE CANT EVEN GET ALONG WITH OURSELVES. WE KILL OUR OWN SPECIES IF SOMEONE HAS A DIFFERENT WAY OF DOING THINGS. HOW THE **** ARE WE GOING TO RESPOND TO A FEW ALIEN SPECIES THAT COME DOWN IN AN UNEXPLAINABLE FLYING SHIP THAT MAY NOT EVEN BE ABLE TO COMMUNICATE WITH US!

Just let your mind slip from the boundaries which hold it.

I have my own theory about that.... Aliens don't visit us! All of this hoopla about flying saucers and such are the public's way of fitting an explanation to something that they don't understand. It is human nature after all, to find an explanation for everything that happens, and if we can't find one than to make one up.

Now i am not saying that there are no such thing as aliens, but i dont think that they waste their time by sending their ships down here to see what we are up to.

What is the point of this quote? I think that everyone in this forum is smart enough to realize that a technical definition of alien is something that is foreign to the habitat, or whatever else dictionary.com says that it is. But this does nothing to describe the aliens that we are referring to in this topic, or Extra Terrestrials as they are more correctly called. The reason that they have become so mystic and magical is because we know absolutly nothing about them... heck we don't even know if they exist. Therefore that leaves our mind free to roam and wander and create stories as to what they really are, making them mystical and magical.

Thousands of people have come forward with sightings, and sure I suppose a good amount of them probably just saw something they couldn’t conceive and started to believe in this theory. I’m also sure that many more people have saw something and are to afraid to come forward and speak of what they saw, for of course they will be critized and looked at funny. A group of my family have seen a UFO when they went camping in Wisconsin back in 1998. They are the only people that I have talked directly to about my two UFO experiences. Other than that I have visited a few forums.

Well yes, UFO's do exist, i agree totally with that. But the thing is, a UFO is not necessarily an extra terrestrial spacecraft. It is just something that is flying through the air that no one has an idea what it is. so yes, these sightings of UFO's are real, i just don't beleive that they are spacecraft from out of this world...
