Correct. Silver is the best of the materials listed here. Copper is second followed by Gold and then Aluminum. Its worth noting that while Copper is almost as good at conducting as Silver it costs a lot less, so copper is the most popular material used.no its not...silver is. Its also the most thermaly conductive metal as well
There it isAluminum is also WAY lighter than copper - often for an SPL sub you don't want the extra mass of copper.
If you have the money a silver voice coil CAN be made... I believe some companies use them in tweeters already.Im wanting a Silver edition NIGHTSHADE.... LOL
Ya, since they put albino alligator skin on one.I think gold is pretty good to from what i remember. But ya i remember my electrical teacher telling up that silver is the best but of course cost way to much.. I think if a company would do a silver coil it would be DD. They like to do weird stuff like that
lol...good stuff. If you have the money a silver voice coil CAN be made... I believe some companies use them in tweeters already.
I cannot personally make them, but if they are made large enough I'm sure I could find one. I imagine the price would be astronomical for a woofer coil, though. Can you make em?
