So i was thinking about adding another JL 12w6v2-d4 to the one I already have. My question is will my JL 500/1 handle it or will it Chernobyl? Will I have to wire the subs in a series/parallel to save my amp? How much difference is there between 1 ohm and 1.5 ohm?

Wire the coils in series (so each sub is 8 ohms), and then each sub in parallel (total 4 ohms).

Each woofer will receive 250w out of the maximum recommended 600w.

I suggest you get a second 500/1
