And I am going to be running this on a single Treo Engineering SSX15, if I turn it down do you think it will still fry the sub?

most i got was 38 and some change at 1.8 from a .5 load. i would say yes to 4k on good electrical. then the gain down you will be fine if you're worried

I'm confused you got 3800rms at 1.8ohms strapped? And you don't think I'll smoke the sub with the gains down, and it will still be loud as hell?

i dont see why not. just be careful and smart about it.

I've heard of people getting 4100 @ 2.2 ohms 13.9 volts.

Just set your gain accordingly.
