Two 12" Mags or 1 15" LMS-5400?

It comes out to be around the same price, but I was just wondering which one would offer the better overall daily driver ground pounding. Not looking for amazing db's, just amazing accuracy while still getting loud. The two Mags would share 5 cubes at 32hz, and I don't know how big of a box the LMS needs, but I'd just go with the reccomended for the low-end extension. Anyways, please, opinions and other suggestions are welcome.

I'd step it up to the 18"...its only a little bit more.

The LMS-5400 is an incredible woofer from what I understand and has extremely low distortion even when creeping towards maximum excursion. The Mags on the other hand produce distortion that increases with distortion. Im not sure how effective the TC LMS technology is, but its a rare woofer that not many people have seen/heard in person.

I would go with the LMS if you have the cash:D It would make a phenomenal HT infrasonic transducer if you ever decided to take it out of your car!

I know what the mag 12's are capable of, and that being said.. no reason for to jump out on a limb on the TC driver.. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

More cone area with mags.. Mags are awsome to begin with... Not many people have experience with the LMS.. TC has had problems...
Id stick with the dual mags!
I might be wrong but personally I have NEVER seen a "my Mag broke" thread....

Mags are pretty bad ***...

How much space do you have available and what kind of wattage are you going to be driving the speaker(s) with?

I have whatever can fit under the backseat in my truck. I'm going to lift the seat up like 3 inches, so up to a 15 will fit under there. But besides that, probably around the neighborhood of like 4-5 cubes.

I've thought about it, but I don't know. I'd be saving up for the LMS over a period of time, but I can't really justify spending $500 on a sub when I'm about to have to pay for college. Who knows, I might end up just getting a 12" Q and be done with it.

How do you go from 2x 12" Mags or a LMS to 1 12" Q?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif

Q isn't a bad speaker but, I'm having issues with logic there. Didn't you have to pay for college when you posted this thread???

2 12" Mags FTMFW

hands down.

From what ive heard from mags, just single 12 setups, I would definitely vouch for 2 12's over a single 15 TC driver which i know has had complaints anyways

and as far as college goes, apply for financial aid and get loans, through your parents if you have to.

i get enough loans to have around 2k a semester spending money, before books and food and all the stuff i need for classes, which leaves me with around 1700-1800 depending on how cheap i can get books.

gives me enough to buy audio and go out with friends when i need to.

can you actually fit the lms5400 in there? Thats a deep *** driver that can really move. I just don't see it fitting under the seat of a truck...even if you lift it a few inches.

I went from 2 12" Mags to 1 12" Q because I realized how much this is going to cost me, since I have to pay for college myself. Yeah, my family already has enough financial trouble, but I'm not gonna go into that. But yeah, I just want something with amazing SQ for a good price, and for it to be loud enough to impress my other friends who are currently all caught up on a Kicker boner.

i highly doubt u can fit a 5400 under a seat. The mags need alot less power than a 5400 as well. If you concerned about your budget, go with the mags..Either way still would be an awesome setup.
