It's a social networking site where you constantly update friends on your status. Basically it's only purpose.
It is a big waste of time, just like Facebook, Myspace, etc. The only reason you hear about it so much is because: a) People are dumb and will use whatever is cool, b) Corporations have found out they can make money through them.

Right now there is someone on twitter asking what the fuck ca.com is. Someone then proceeds to explain that it is a car audio forum where all that happens is retards argue with n00bs about pointless stuff. The OP then replies, "that sounds retarded. How could that be any fun?"

I use twtiiter quite a bit.....basically its just a way to stay updated with your friends
most of it is just junk though.
I do follow CNN/Weather channel and local news though twitter
but aside from that its useless

My work uses Twitter. If some department is having problems with something, they just post it up on there instead of calling everyone.
