Looking good dude. I am going nuts trying to wait until I have the coin for my box for the hdc3s I got looking at me saying 'put me in, coach'
Yeah I am still waiting on a couple things before I put them in. Gonna change out my FX100 for an LC2i. Hoping to cleanup the signal a little. And probably wait for my 4 Hawker batts as well.

build looking good, I would have high hopes with the LC2i, my LCQ-1 preformed much better than the loc I tried. Even if not, using the LC2i's output controll and amps gain you should still get about as loud sound as with an aftermarket deck. Just set the lc2i's output to be around 2-5 volts for your amp (get a 40 hz 0db track and play it 1 volume below where your head unit distorts and mesure the rca's output from the lc2i on AC voltage. positive on the center rod from the rca and neg on the outer circle part but be VERY careful don't touch the pos to the negative )

The volume on your head unit don't matter its more of a number than anything if you can get a clean signal that is around 2-5 volts to your amplifier using a line driver (the lc2i) you are good to go. But obviously using an aftermarket head unit will give you slightly better quality.

Thanks man. Never thought to measure voltage that way. Wondering if thats why I am getting so much distortion. This FX100 puts out up to 9 volts

yeah, it can be that your amp likes to see around 5 volts max (like most amps check the manual for yours), and be sure the fx100 isnt putting out distortion when it is set at that (if you don't have a SMD-DD1 i can vouch for how useful it is) , and I did see a big difference in quality after installing the lcq-1 because the lcq-1 is an active loc (same with the lc2i) where as the fx100 and most others are passive locs. I used a few different passive locs and they just sound very unclean, even when grounded.

looking forward to see these subs in action

Well, got the LC2i installed today. My amp will take up to 10v input, so I just maximized the LC2i and then backed off until the light went off. Then checked my heading after the LC2i with my DD1 and could not get the 1% distortion light to come on. Thats a +. So I have everything installed and tuned. Next is installing the subs.
