I'd go straight for a 3.5k amp. It'll wake up that hdc with conservative gain settings and have head room for the future. Even going from 1.3 to 2k, its not really worth. Go big right from the get go and save money in the future.Yep everything is good now...just looking for a little more headroom.
not with lowered gains settings. You can add an extra group 31 battery in the back next to the amp and keep above 12 volts and charge your batts with a trickle charger every month and you'll be fine. Just because its 3500 watts doesnt mean it'll draw that much amperage unless you go full tilt with a straight pure sine wave. On music, amp draw is a lot less and with lowered gain settings, its even less.I'd have to upgrade my alternator and I don't know how much modification that would take. I'd like to though.
shouldnt be too bad. Get a bigger amp and lower the gain till you are steady above 12 volts on the hardest hits and upgrade electrical as needed.Hardest notes I've seen drops to 13.1
Got my dc 3.5k for 550 used. Got my banda 7k for similar price and the banda is easier on the electrical system while a lot louder and more head room. Most good amps like that are up there in price. I'm looking $500 tops
