tweets...

Why not those? I'm going to try those with my RE comps with koda crossovers(3khz at 36db/oct).
OK, a couple of questions. How do you think these compare to the 3/4" CDT's I have right now? and what are the mounting options on that tweet? And BTW, why are you going to get these when you have the Aura's allready?

I just noticed that these say Aluminum. I was looking at the silk ones, is there much of a difference?

The option is surface mount, the inside of thatcover has 2 places for screws. I haven't heard them yet, I actually just got them today. I can't use the auras because the RE mids have that big bullet in the middle and I don't wanna risk destroying them takin it apart. I might have a review of how they sound on the RE crossover tomorrow night.

Right on, keep me in the loop. I'm very interested. Why did you not use the RE tweets? Did you find them too harsh like everyone else?

I am using them, I've had them in for a few months. They sound like they're at their limits while the rest of my system is asking for more turns of the volume knob. I've been putting 75wrms to them, TeamPSI made a post a while back on SIN that the tweets shouldn't see more than 50w with the RE crossover, more than that you should go active and raise the x-over point. My sub is taking up my rear channels at the moment so I threw that option out.

So how are the Koda x-overs working for you then? I have the RE comp set as well, but am running CDT tweets. I am still using the RE x-overs, but thought about switching them out as well. Currently I'm running about 100 wrms per side to the comps. Sound good, but like there is something mising.

Any idea how these compare to the RE x-overs? It looks like a great deal, but if I don't gain anything from it there is no point in buying them.

RE crossover point: 2khz with 12db/oct

Koda crossover point: 3khz with 36db/oct

Whether it is better depends on the application, I'll let ya know when they get here.

Screw it, I just ordered a pair. I'll see how they sound with the CDT's, if I don't like it I'll try new tweets. If I don't like that I'll sell everything and start all over again. I guess that is part of the fun!

BTW, to the original poster: Sorry I kinda hijacked your thread. Hopefully your learning the same stuff I am.

very preliminary impressions:

I got 1 in today after work and the other has a few minutes of wiring work to do, but they sound a little more detailed than the RE tweets, but still a little rough. I'm guessing thats from the low x-over point, that'll be fixed monday with the koda x-overs. I only had a few minutes with them/it though. I had the RE tweet hooked up on the other side of the car and I could tell the difference.
