sooo. i've noticed soemthign with tweets, at least one ones ive used. i've had 3 diff HU (decent mp3 panasonic, 880prs, and my avh-p6600dvd), and 3 differant types of component tweets (diamond m3 and m5, inifity silk domes). and every time i play the mids and highs above a certain volume thats too loud (not %100 but very very very high, at least too high for these).....the tweets will go flat and soudns liek ass...then whn i roll the volume back down to a certain point (like halfway up) they come back to normal.....then if i turn them up too high again same thing, then i turn it back down and back to normal. happens ussualyl on heavy metal / rock songs that have alot of treble.....
my question is...what exactly is causeing this? is it the tweets dome and VC going out of whack from clipping then goig back to normal when i turn it down.? is it my HU clipping? something wrong IN the HU? ampproblems maybe? (same amp used in all this). anybody else get that problem with the tweets at high enough volume going flat? they dont sound distorted at the volume when this happens, they're just loud, then whomp, flatness....
