I know it is to get better sound. Okay so you can get a better understanding i have two kenwood subs in 1987 chevy caprice but i can barely hear the lyrics of the songs. Do i need component tweeters to increase the voulume of the lyrics?

You need speakers, not just the tweeters, and an amplifier to power them. The speakers can be components (ie. tweeter, mid, and crossover) or coaxial (ie. everything in one package).
