Tweeters WAY too annoying

hey all, Names John, and i just got som NB-4 power acoustik tweeters to cap off my system.

Now my only question is, what can i do to turn down just the tweeters and not my front speakers?

Now i know what i'm talkin about when it comes to ohms and cross overs and stuff and highpass filters. Trust me, i'm not the average joe at this but i do need alittle help.

I currently have those tweeters and some hifonics 5.25's wired in parallel to make a 2ohm load to the front two channels and i have my 6x9's in the back all being powered off a Lightning audio Bolt 4 channel amp.

my headunit is the pioneer DEH-8600MP and If you wanted to know, i have 2 kicker comp 10's in custom boxes in the trunk.

I can't stand how high they are, i just wanted to bring the sound stage up alittle and emphasize the highs alittle more, not this much. any help is appreciated.

Not familiar with Pioneer's HU lineup, but you can use the EQ to lower the higher end of the frequency range.

Personally on my 9887 I have the last 3 or so frequencies between -2 and -4.

i did that but then i get no highs to my back speakers because of how much i have to turn the highs down. then it sounds unballanced

is there anything i can put inline with the tweeters to turn them down? another idea, can i connect them to the wires going to my tweeters in the hifonics speakers and they would be quieter?

Wire speakers and tweets independently. Adjust EQ. If your HU eq doesn't suffice, get an external one. If it's still too much for you, Run tweets of the HU.

Dude, don't try to fool yourself.. you are a complete noob.. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

What you are seeking are known as L-pads.. check out partsexpress..

the tweets have "internal crossovers" lol

cloudwalka, what do you mean? on separate channels?

also, can i wire the tweets off the headunit and still use the rca outs? for the amp? i've never used it this way, i'm just wondering if there would be adverse effects.

ok i may not know as much as you all but i do know how to not blow my speakers and actually power my system correctly (rms ratings and stuff) unlike almost everyone else i know
