Tweeters quieter than stock ones

Hey all, this may be a dumb question but I just got some new tweeters to replace the old stock ones. They're Power Acoustik NB-2 200-Watt 3-Way Tweeters I can hardly even hear them when they're playing the stock ones were much louder sounding. I believe they're wired in with the speakers in my doors which are wired to a Kenwood Excelon X450-4 I tried having the tweeters just play from the amp and it made no difference. I have a Pioneer DEH4700bt head unit which could be the problem? Or maybe the tweeters just **** but from what I read they should still be louder than my stock ones. I have no idea what to do.

well if you had them on an amp and its still not louder than Id say thats power acoustic quality for you. So many people underestimate stock speakers and tweeters... They are higher quality than most of the cheap drop in replacements you can find on the market.

i left my stock tweets and added coax gave me 2 tweets per door $40.. if my factory tweets blow i may not even replace them., sound qubed coax silk tweets sound great

Another contributing factor is the high frequency crossover. It has a cap that's high passing at 3500hz. Your stock high pass - if it had one was probably quite a bit lower. At 3500 they're not doing much more than cymbals and other high percussion. So they may not necessarily be quieter, they're just covering less material.

That screaming high electric guitar type stuff in the 1000-2000hz range would have to be picked up entierly by the full range speakers.
