Tweeters off the glass??

Would it be better to mount my tweeters flush in my defroster vent bezel (it spans the entire length of the dash , they would be mounted as far in the corners as possible) instead of off axis in doors at knee level??

They are knee level now and when the doors are closed imaging is very poor and HF output is not very impressive at all. Now if i swing the doors open and sit in the drivers seat it sounds great. But who drives with the doors open. So do you guys think in the dash reflecting off the glass would be better?

Probably not. I'd highly recommend doing pillars and cutting holes higher in the door panel over reflecting off the windshield, just causes cancellation...

My stock jeep ones are where you're talking about putting them. But I know nothing of imaging, sq, any of it:D Hope this didnt help you:D

FWIW, the honda fit's tweeters are done off the glass and I was very impressed with the imaging when I heard them. just my $0.02. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

My Honda Civic has the tweeters in pods way way up in the dash. They sound fine to me....

There is about 3 inches before the tweeter hits the windshield...

You always seem to help me out. LOL. If chrysler did it , why not me? J/K
Lol, I like the chrysler line.

I unhooked the tweets as soon as I got the jeep, they were blown. So like I said, I know nothing about this=) but I plan on using my stock locations whenever I do replace them. Someone on here did a build and said he hollowed out the speaker thats in there and used that to mount the tweet to for a solid mounting. I'd honestly be happy where ever they are haha.

here's a neat little trick that I did in a few car's for ppl that didn't want their tweeter's visible and didn't have factory tweeter mounts. get a rearview mirror like a broadway mirror that slips over your existing. break the mirror and mount the tweeters on the back side of the rearview mirror. run 18 gauge speaker wire through into the roof hidden by the headliner and to the amp or crossovers. once the tweeters are mounted and ready to have the mirror re-installed slip the replacement rearview mirror on and done.

both tweets firing from the center? thats gotta really screw up imaging. I don't think i'll try that trick.
