lookin to grab a pair of tweeter spheres to mount to my a-pillars does anybody know where to go about finding a set of them? preferabbly wood or plastic i suppose.

I have seen some sweet ones people have made out of fiberglass, they used a sytyrofoam ball for a basic mold and used bigger balls to make spheres for mids. They were sweet looking. I also saw a guy selling some nice metal ones on a honda forum. I can try to get some links if you want.

that is a sch40 1.25 or 1.5" pvc cap.

any hardware store will have them

yes, the scion build log shows how i made tweeter spheres out of solid wood spheres, as does my accord build log (link in sig). i haven't seen anyone else do what i did. i prefer solid wood to flimsy plastic - you don't want the resonance frequency of the material used to be within the bandwidth of the speaker you are using. so you want to lower the resonance frequency - wood is sufficient for that. plastic - probably needs to be treated.

in that link (it's long but worth going through) you'll see many examples.

the tweeter spheres are awesome. they eliminate the diffraction that any other tweeter mount will introduce, and as a result they make the tweeter sound much better. always realize the repercussions of your speaker mounting location. diffraction is the #1 issue with tweeters (due to wavelengths reproduced being geometrically relative to the distances involved). phase interference that results from diffraction will make tweeters sound harsh.
