Tweeter mounting in f150 2001

I went to electronic express and got them to install two pioneer champion series amps, one kinetic 600 watt battery, and the wiring and polk audio db 6501 component set in the front and db 571 coaxials in the back and 12 inch kicker subs in the back. Well I wanted the installer to drill into the A pillars that face the windshield and mount the tweeters there so that the soundwave will bounce back from the windshield. Therefore, not having the tweeters directly aimed at your ears. The installers said that he could not put them there because there was metal behind the A pillars. So he ended up mounting them right below the rear view mirrors on the door panel. The sound of the tweeters are so bright and hard and loud that it almost hurts my ears. I would love the smooth sound of the tweeters facing the windshield bouncing back to me. Is there anyway to turn down the tweeters? And if I can, would it be alright to mount two more tweeters inside the A pillars? Car tronics said they could mount them in the A pillars. The reason I would still leave the tweeters below the rear view mirror is because if I took them out there would be a hole there. And it seems like four tweeters in the front would sound pretty good.

That is a component set up, so if you turn down the volume to the tweets, you'll be turning down the mids too. Are they (the tweeters) fixed mounted, or do they swivel? If you want to reduce the power to those tweets, you could run them off the head unit instead. The ones installed are most likely too big to put in the A pillars and that's why they didn't. You could also get new tweets for the pillars and just disconnect the ones in the door and leave them there. No one likes holes showing haha. Have you tried adjusting your eq to soften the highs?

I am not sure if they are movable tweets or not. And they are not too big because they are only one inch tweeters and the a pillars are at least 2 inches wide and 3 feet long. If I turned the tweeters to -3 db and mounted regular tweeters in the a pillars at maximum potential then would it still have a full surround sound to it? Because I wouldn't wanna just waste those tweeters. I would at least mount them somewhere else. And I never fooled with the eqs on the head unit

I looked them up and they are fixed. 1 inch tweets aren't so small inside the casing and mounting, so you'll have to check it out closely before you start cutting. Like crossover said, check that switch on the crossover. On your eq, the band on the far right is your upper frequencies, bring it down a little and see if that helps any. And yes, you can run 2 sets, but I would run the ones in the doors of the hu.
