Ok, i'm trying to find a place to put my dayton rs tweeters, I really underestimated the size on these things, they are HUGE. But anyways, I think i have a place for it on the passengers side but on the drivers side that will not do...

Passengers side (sorry for the crappy pics, best i can do with my phone):

Drivers side:

As you see, on the drivers side, the mirror control is blocking that position.

Here is a picture of the tweeter compared to the passengers side:

I can make it work with a hole saw and a piece of mdf cut to the inner and outer diameter of the tweeter. But on the drivers side I really don't know where to put it, I don't want to do any fiberglassing or anything like that (i'm not really worried about looks). Does anyone have any ideas of where to put it on the drivers side?

Here's another pic of the tweeter, It is 2 7/8" cutout, 4" outer diameter, and 1 5/8" deep:

Mid's going in the door, if i put the tweets in the kickpanels won't it sound weird being 2-3ft away from the mids?
It'll sound a lot better than putting them at that location in your door //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Ok thanks, I had never really thought about putting them in the kickpanels //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif .

Well here's some pic's of the kickpanels:

I'm not so sure how this will work, there's virtually no mounting depth behind them. I'm thinking a MDF baffle and wood dowels (to get the right angle). How does that sound? If that does sound good what should i use to glue wood to plastic?

Edit: heres what it looks like in the car:

Wouldn't even need to use wood.

Just pick up some aluminum bar stock from Home Depot, bend it to the appropriate angle and cut it to the appropriate length. Would be very simple really.

Wouldn't that rattle, or do tweeters not cause things to rattle? And how do i go about bending aluminum bar stock with that wide of a diameter? And after i bend and cut, do i just cut a hole on the kickpanel and gorilla glue it in nice and snug?

Imagine those black lines are the aluminum bars, and pretend they are behind the mouting surface. That's what the tweeter itself is attached to

Then imagine that "curve" bending straight backwards (directly behind the tweeter) where it is screwed onto the kickpanel. That attaches the aluminum bars to the kickpanel.

Make sense?

Ahh, i get it now. What shape would i get of that, round or square or flat or what? I guess I don't rly know what bar stock is, and also what size would i get?
