tweeter burnt up!

has anyone every have a tweeter blow and the ***** smoke profusely. cause i have had a tweeter blow and not make a loud noise or anything it just stop working. but i turned up my home stereo in room and one of my tweeters popped really loud and smoked really bad for a couple minutes you could smell voice coil.

i blew a tweeter from my old kappa perfect set. i smelled a very faint smell then it just stopped. other than that i have never burnt up a speaker.... accidentally that is.

yea i mean it has been doing fine never had problem. i'm not gonna lie it was a cheap tweeter but wow did it smeelll i kinda like the smell unless its a very expensive smell lol that just makes ya sick too your stomach.

lol is that what it was because i had the horn tweeters hooked up too. because i had the set of tweeters then one blew long time ago just went out so i left this one on there hooked up the horn tweeters played fine turned up more BAAMMM!!! lol it cut the whole unit off i thought it fried everything.
