tweet mounting *pics*

k that last pic of the flushed tweet...i may just do a surface mount there...what do u think?

the tweets are 3/4 inch..so about 19mm...if i replace them in the future..are most good tweet sizes bigger? so i should i just flush them...

what do u guys suggest

so should i just flush them? and if i do get better components w/ most likely a bigger tweeter..just cut the hole bigger and and flush them again..

how does this sound?

Im not 100% sure but I just thought I would bring that to your attention.

I dont think a drop would hurt it, but over a period of time I would think it would eventually start messing up.

ill be carefully...try to open and close the door fast when it rains..

should i flush it in that location? and better comps usually bigger tweets right? so if i replace it i just make a bigger hole?

if you want your soundstage (where the sound is coming from) to be below you, then by all means, mount the tweeters on your doors.

I had my tweeters mounted in my doors for about a year and I was never quite.. satisfied with it. it didn't sound right, ever... i felt the sound was under me.

Pointing the tweeters TOWARD you erases any type of depht you might get from your music. Try standing in front of 1 speaker and see how deep your music sounds. You'll notice no depht or soundstage.

Ideally, you want your tweeters sitting in your a-pillar, angled toward the sunroof (if you don't have one, where it would be). If you need any reason to believe this, go read CDT's info on soundtage.

It doesn't look like your tweeters fit flush.. but you can aim them with some creativity.

im gonna flush them exactly the same way the last pic i showed from some other corolla...

the door seems like the only place to put the tweets...those pillars rnt flat enough to do a surface its kinda curvy..and no space the flush them there

im planning to do this now...

what do u think...my tweets are also swivel if that helps

to be honest..ive never really heard an amazing clear system yet...i currently ahve type s speakers..i think they're crap..but i just want my comps to sound better than these coaxials...

i would but i wanna keep everything stock looking...and dont have the time to do kicks cuz of school..

i just want something better than my coaxials..thats what i really care about

I like the flush mounting approach... You won't have to worry about rain, they will be just fine, I promise.

If your upgrading from type S coaxials... I have no doubt in my mind that these will improve the clarity and raise the soundstage of your music.

ur amplifying these, right? if so, why dont you plug in the tweeter and comp, and play around with their positioning till you find what sounds the best?

yeah im amping these..i mite just do what that guy did...i want a stock look...i just want better than my coaxials...whenever i get a new car thats when ill care bout sound staging and everything..
