Decided to make a video since so many people want to use these in SPL burp applications and high power (50%+ over rated power) and large enclosure (25-100% larger than suggested) applications.

For these applications you will want to run a bead of epoxy around the spider as shown in the video.

Has worked great for me... have done around 100 burps at over 1kw per driver in my CRX this way... hitting 153 dB.

The next run and forward will simply feature a bolted down spider to handle all applications right off the bat.

are you using a 5" spider on that sub? looks like it vid kinda dark.

It is a 130mm nomex double layer spider -- 5.11" roughly.

This particular spider allows alot of throw -- has pretty tall rolls on it. It easily allows more throw than the 16mm linear one-way of the motor -- spider allows at least 20mm one-way.

if you want to run a "safe" box, wich is 0,6cuft, how would that sound with music tuned to 40-45hz with a 4" aero?

i use goop which is a little stronger. might wanna try that jacob. 5 min. epoxy is brittle. if anything use like 30 minute or 50 minute epoxy. good idea though.

^^^ yes this idea keeps the spider from launching itself off the landing when either A. throwing way more power or B. playing below tuning with alot of excursion

ok so i just run some epoxy around the outer edge of the spider? the video was really dark i couldnt tell where exactly he was putting the glue

on the last roll of the surround put the bead there to act like a lock. put it there and on the basket so u can pretty much secure it to the basket so to speak
