Turning 18, wanna buy a rifle

.223 is a ***** round , I know you said no .308 but in my opinion
M1 > M16/AR15

Ive shot both, and the M16 is mainly just for people who want to look cool, " Hey look at my AR15, isent it neat-o burrito?" ... It's still a good weapon, but not very practicle other than trying to kill someone.
With as much as I shoot I cant afford a .308.

You want an SKS or AK to go hunting with? Those are not very accurate. I'd get a Mosin Nagant or a Mauser for hunting. They're cheap and they're pretty accurate.
Nope, I have hunting rifles. This is a fun gun.

Thanks for the sites and links guys I cant wait to check thru them.

if you want to get ballsy , you can get a stripped lower reciever from RRA (rock river arms) and piece it together yourself. itll run much less than buying one complete and you can say that you built it yourself...just not sure how easy it is since ive never done it and dont know your gun building/molesting skills.

he will save 3-400 bucks and put in atleast 5 hours puting it togeather

Awesome, just afraid to see reserve when the buy it now is so expensive.

Where would I buy the upper parts to make it so cheap?

I could figure it out between my friend and my dad. It could get done lol

found a mosin nagant that i was thinking about for around 300.
Mosin for 300?! I thought those were just dirt cheap.. like $70-150 depending on wear and tear. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif

some mosins are more rare that others, do some research before going that route... i bought a mosin about a month ago for $90 in above average shape. very neat guns and ammo is cheap, i havent had a chance to shoot mine, but they are suposed to be pretty accurate

An ar15 is about the easiest gun to put together. I know assembling and building are two different things, but its about as easy as putting together a knex set //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
