Just bought some new rear speakers (pionner 5 channel ones) and a new 4 channel amp (profile 1040 80 watts rms)

i was wondering how to just increase the bass for the rear speakers would i change the low freqency filter or raise the bass boost up or what?

p.s. i also have some speakers up front hence the 4 channel amp

its in a 65 mustang so please don't say get a subwoofer because i don't want one //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

5 channel speakers don't exist.

And there won't be the ability to raise the bass output on the speakers through the amp. You will have to increase the bass on your HU.

You aren't supposed to use your LPF on speakers, you should be using the HPF

i meant 5 way lol

and so i shouldnt have the dial on the amp set to full i should have it set to high?
Yep set it to high and set the crossover, if there is one, to 100-120hz.

But you also have to realize something with this.

Sub bass frequencies, or the BASS you are used to hearing, that a sub would reproduce, is generally from 100hz down. Aftermarket speakers like those are not designed to play that low. So you won't get that strong of a bass out of them. You'll get your kick drum, but it won't compare to having any sort of woofer.

Also, I understand you said no subs whatsoever. But you should look into one if you want any sort of bass reproduction. There are a lot on the market that require VERY small enclosures, and 1 or 2 8 inch ones would do you fine. Unlike most people assume, you don't have to be someone who is knocking the block down, to have a subwoofer.
