Okay, I just got such a kick out of this I had to tell you about it.

I went to a place called P&J electronics, returning the Pyramid Gold component set. They sounded nice, very good for Pyramid, but I can't mount 5.25s. While I was there, I overheard this much. It took nearly 2 hours to get him to return my stuff. I'm so patient that I know it pisses him off. The guy there, his name was Jim.

1. He told me that a 4000 watt MA Audio amp was benched at 210. I looked at his equipment and he had an ANCIENT Pyramid power supply that rated a max 35 amps. The amp meter on it indicated about 23. I pointed this out, and Jim reassured me it was doing a solid 120 amps. He also mentioned the MA Audio was bought new for $75. BULLSHIT.

2. I mentioned wanting an Infinity Kappa 6.5" component set. He said he had a DEI set that blew them out of the water, and dispite the fact it said 5.25 on the box, he made quick to tell me they DID measure 6.5" in diameter. INTERESTING.

3. Sitting on a table awaiting repair is a VIPER 2500.1! Oh. My. God. I don't see anything that good around here. I asked him about that, too. Jim told me that Viper is made by, get this, PYRAMID! He was quick to point out it only did about 300 RMS when he benched it. He said his 1000 watt Lanzar VIBE would outdo that in a heartbeat! I told him to give me a reasonable price and I'd take the Viper off his hands. You know, don't want to have VIPER stuff making his Legacy stuff look bad. He said it was a shitty amp and wouldn't sell it. THAT IS UNCOOL.

4. A Hiphonics Zeus, wow! Again, some idiot had blown it up. He said Hiphonics were nothing compared to his Boss amps. BULLSHIT.

5. I asked him why he wouldn't bench anything he normally sells, and just display a bench sheet and a price tag. He said everything he sells is so under-rated, that noone would believe him. SURE.

6. His display, the one good working piece of equipment, a Pioneer DEH 7600 (?), and it was attached to PYLE speakers! I told someone else there I wouldn't trust the Pyles, but the HU was solid. Again, Jim was quick to point out his Legacy HU, which he just happened to have lying around, was 1000X better because it had DVD. RIGHT.

7. I told Jim my plight about my enclosure. He told me I'd never make one as good as a pre-fab. LIKE HELL I WON'T.

8. Class D = 100% Digital. Period. End of discussion, he knows cause he pulls them apart. "PROFESSIONAL" IN QUOTES.

This was all in 2 hours. He would say some really dumb-*** remark every 15 minutes. That's why I normally only go there for wire and terminals.

i have a guy in my town like that...(not as bad but close)

he trys to sell off brand shit. he tried to see me 2 15" audiopipes with a clif amp and the i told him about the solo and hey said that they would beat the solo but 10 dbs..hahha but get pics and post him we have to make this stand up famous.
