I know this has been asked many times but my situation seems a little different. Current setup is a PPI PC4100 running factory speakers(an upgrade is soon to come) and a PPI PC2150 powering an eclipse 8122 at 4 ohms mono.
As far as grounding I have a 4 gauge wire connected to the rear set belt bolt(paint sanded away) running to a distro block, both amps are using 8 gauge power/ground, I am also grounding my head unit to the same area. The popping is only coming from my sub. I have unhooked the sub amp and there is no popping so I have isolated it to this amp. I have been able to reduce to "loudness" of the popping through reducing the gains. This to me sounds like a grounding issue, does this make sense? Should I consider running a separate ground from this amp to the common ground point, maybe increase the power and ground wire to 4 guage?
