Turbo or engine swap?

well, you dont want to go cheap for sure on the suspension, but if you cant get coilovers, just lower it. it will suffice for daily driver. make sure you get not only springs, but get struts as well. i got a FK cup kit, heard good things about H&R cup kits as well, or the bilstien sport struts with whatever springs you want.

when you say "gti vr6" that means just the motor into your jetta right? if so, 2500 for it installed isnt bad, just make sure you get some type of backing on the labor. how many miles on that motor?

I have the sheet in front of me:

2002 vw gti vr6:

engine assembly: removal + installation

engine assembly: remove, install, and overhaul

engine assembly (complete): remove + replace

Engine or transaxle mount: remove + replace

long block: remove and replace

short block: remove and replace

In-line 1.8l eng, gas - part 06a 103 101 s $2219.90

vr6 - part 021 103 101 c $2506.31

I wonder how much I can sell my 40k mile engine for.

Those figures are shortblock. There isn't even a long block option listed.

I'm want him to run a check on the Eurospec 3.2l VR6. Does it come standard in any cars as that would be the easiest for him to look up, 02+ r32?

edit: Also, what should I expect to sell my engine for - and where? I was suggested a local junk yard/parts dealer and probalby sell it for most of the cost of the vr6 and spend the money on the vr6 on a nice stage 1(+2 maybe) turbo.

I take it you've found a good price on the 3.2 somewhere? Care to share the link?

-I guess it doens't have to be on the internet. It could be through someone like I know.

HPA quoted me the price for AWD system, new floor pan, new 6spd ******, engine block, wide body kit, and suspension... i could tell you the price, but you wont like it!

Ouch. Online I've seen the engine average about 5.5k for long block. I'm guessing north of 8, probably closer to 9?

I'll just stick to the 2.8l... The 3.2 probably would be $1000/liter.

Oh wow. Theres a lot more involved than I thought was. I thought you were just talking engine, not twin-turbo. I really don't know much about performance prices anyway //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
