I've always just wanted to do that, just to see what people do. If i had the money i would get an old peice of crap car like a ford pinto or an old old beetle, and drop a huge engine into it and fix it up to run in the 10's. Then take it out to a track, have everyone laugh at you, and then whoop their ***. if you go to the track in a pinto everyone will expect low ET's simply b/c everyone makes pintos fast. you just dont know alot about them.

 
wastegates are the correct term, i think blowoff valves are for the layman..:p

i thought wastegates are what control the ammount of pressure by wasting it, but you still get set ammount of boost. where as a bov releases all pressure when changing gears or letting off the accelerator quickly. but i may be wrong.

turbo boost controller controls how much psi of boost to send. wastegates release pressure in turbine during liftoff. Slightly different sotry if there is an anti-lag system involved (the "dump" valve doesn't go whoosh, it shrieks and chirps.)

the boost controller tells the wastegate to open at a certain psi, the wastegate stays open until the BOV opens, then when the car reaches set PSI the wastegate opens again and it just keeps going on.
