i have tried searching the forums but could not find much on it. I have a DMM and i want to tune my amp for my mids and highs. how would i go about this?

are you talking about just gain, or actually tuning them through the EQ's?

the gains would be just tuning from the amp correct?

also it will be on a Soundstream TRX4.420 R/B and the HU is a DEH-7300BT

huh? you've got your gain matching (gain), then you have your filters (HP, LP, FULL.... your eq, i.e. frequency setting). not sure which one you're asking about bro?

lol, ok.... you will do the exact same steps as a sub amp, except you will use a 1khz test tone.... for the actual steps, check out this thread, it has all the steps in it, as well as alot of other info you may find useful...

ok so i got setting the gains on the amp part but what about on the crossover for the components?

do your components have a fixed or adjustable x-over?

also lets say how in the steps it says For example

the amp puts out 300rms @ 2Ω

so its SQRT(300*2)

this would be for a 1 channel, how would i go about on finding this for a four channel amp

lets say mine is 70rmsx4 @ 4Ω

would the equation be SQRT(280x4)

which would then be 33.46

your amp should have 2 seperate gains... one for the first 2 channels, one for the second 2.

you'll do it for each set of channels... but you can do it on one channel per set... i would check each channel seperately, but of channel should be right around the same...

and you'll do it by what each channel is rated at, so if you'll be running it at 70@4 then your going to be SQRT(70*4)
