Tuning on a Guitar

I know this isn't a guitar forum, but a few of you know how to play and the like.

I was wondering how you tuned a semi-step down...? To like Eb... my tuner has Sharps and the like... but, I don't think E# == Eb.

Anyone have any insight? (BTW, I have a Fender ST-1 Stage Tuner if that's any help at all.)

a piano is how i used to tune my guitars. then by ear from there up.

I don't play guitar or anything, but wouldn't Eb = d#? or if I have it backwards, F#

do the bottom string by ear, by playing e flat on any other string, and earing it to a lower octave. assuming your guitar is in tune to e sharp now.

i would tune to D and then bring the entire guitar down a full note... then drop the D down lol

I normally play a whole step down, with my low E string dropped to C //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/woot.gif.aaa6090e619a97b6090d16dd863c5a69.gif. That way i can capo to D, Eb, or standard whenever I need to.

Heavy strings ftw too.

I believe stevie ray vaugh played with 15 for is low... OMG!

i have been playing for a long time.. this is how I would do it. tune everything to E of course. then use the E string to create an A flat by putting your fingers on the 4th fret of your E string and then tune the A string to A flat. then tune how you would normally tune. hope this helps. if you need me to elaborate i will be glad to.

well.. to answer your question .. technically there is no such thing. E is only a half a step away from an F. B-C is only a half a step. an E flat is a d # you got that right though

Eb is D#

my band plays in C#, its a good time (im the drummer)

i tend to favor playing my bass in standard though, mainly cause its a 6 string fretless
