So i set my gain via the DDM

With the equipment that I have i set it at 35.5 volts

the math was like this 600*2 and the sqrt of 1200 is around 35

I used a 50hz test tone to tune it and after I was done my sub (kicker l5) hits like

a little girl even at the maximum volume (the volume i used to set the gain)

what could be the problem?

probably the song you are trying to play is ~-4db instead of 0db

set you sw level on the hu to 0, bass to 0, any eq to flat and no boost on the amp then set it with the dmm and then reset your eq's and so on. some times, subs-when you test the ohms on them, they arnt exactaly as stated. you can also test your driver ohms and set your amp to that figure.

yea i basically adjusted it with no sw boost and then added the amount i wanted and it sounds alright.

Better then the guy at my local shop he just did it,

without even listening to it and cranked it up

it was amazingly loud and i couldn't use my rear view

and it sounded like sh*t,

and i'm sure i was bottoming out the sub and the amp was clipping and all.
