Tuning Gain *Newbie*

First off, Thanks to everyone on this site, I have learned ALOT from reading the forums...I'm pretty new to car audio and was reading a post about tuning your gains on the amp...i have a RF 2 channel amp and I am bridging it to a Eclipse bandpass (yeah I know! I know! Im going to get an EDk soon!) Do i have to tune both gains from each channel? I did that...but im just not too sure...sorry if i sound soo newb...its probably because I am =) Thanks guys!

your 2 channel amp should only have one gain. Are you sure your not mistaking a low pass or high pass filter for a gain?

Which model do yo have. Generally with RF amps when runnign it bridged you have to set both gain settings equally which is fairly hard since you can't even tell what you have it set at by looking at it (atleast it was that way on every RF amp i've owned.)

I have the RF 601S amp...with all these adjustments that I have to make im beginning to believe that putting the amp under the seat wasnt a good idea....ugh...thanks for the help everyone...

The 601S is a 2-channel amp. There should be only 1 gain control.

If you do in fact have 2 gain controls use a multimeter to match em up as close as possible.

Don't knock Eclipse subs, they're some of the cleanest out there. If you are running Eclipse subs in a bandpass box, just make a new enclosure and keep the Eclipse, especially if they are the 8700 series or better.

actually...sw6102.r. The one that comes in a bandpass box...i wasnt dogging eclipse..i was talking about the enclosure. I know that many people on this site favor sealed or ported enclosures over a bandpass one...Thats all =)

That BP is actualy made for that sub, so it should sound aright.
