35-38Hz should be a good starting point.

I'd say higher (just alittle) 38 - 40.... you wont miss anything under that tune... AND it will be loud...

I've had 2 sq setups tuned low (atlas 15" tuned to 28 and avalanche 18 tuned @ 27hz) it suxed for rap... current set up 2 10"s in a b/p and they HAMMER... It will play down to 30hz ...

You will not be dissapointed.

It will still get those occasional notes in the mid 30s

My best sounding box on Hip Hop / Rap was tuned to 32hz...

But 35 is a good staple frequency to keep it at...

Yeah 45 is more of an SPL tunning, Not ideal for daily use...

yeah im trying to find some time to build a new one, tuned to around 32... but I think youd be surprised how decent the 45hz tuning sounds, not bad at all.

And I'm spreading the word, THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH A 40HZ tune.... I actually find low tunes (just for ME) are a waste... MASSIVE shaking of the car is kinda stupid. steering wheel bouncing and all kinda suks. (see my 1st post for my past set ups) With my b/p box little scrappy, lil john, dr dre, 2pac ALL sound soo good its crazy. I'm not missing anything from my previous 2 setups.... not one thing...

I tuned my 10" TS-W1500SPL to 37hz and my memphis PR 12s to 40HZ I tihnk it depends alot on the sub itself but 35-40hz is the norm for streetbass.

ewww @ >32 tuning...... I say 28-32 Rap has a lot of LOW bass.
