I listen mainly to Rock and Roll, blues and alternative. No rap!! If I'm looking for really tight, punchy bass with good bass note definition in the guitar...what would be the cabinet tuning frequency that you would recommend for two - JL 10w6v2's?
I'm debating on having something built..or getting an audio enhancers custom cabinet. They're "prefab" but built to driver specific criteria with good quality. I talked to the sales guy at Audio Enhancers and he actually recommended a Diamond Audio specific AH cab because it was tuned at 46 hz as opposed to the JL cab which was at 39hz. He said the JL was made more for Rap and low bass. The DA cab would be tighter and punchier. It also was the "slotted style"...NOT sealed. He said that the slotted would give me the SQ of sealed but at a higher SPL than sealed. My subs are "slightly" underpowered so he thought this was more efficient.
Any recommendations? Is he right about 46hz vs 39hz?
