tuning a port

i have a infinity 1230w reference series sub, in a 1.75 cu sealed box.

i kinda wanna port this, i already have some pvc pipe thats 4" wide i just would like some suggestions and tips on what all i need to do.

With a 4" pvc pipe, your port would have to be around 17 inches long to tune it to around 31hz.

In order to decrease the length, you'd have to get a pipe with a smaller diameter, increase the size of your box, or both.

is that the best overall tuning?

i think the longest section of my box is like 18 3/16 or somethin like that. can i put a 17" inch pipe in there?

also inifinty recommends that if ported it should be in a 2.0 cu ft box, mines only 1.75, is there gonna be a prablem with that?

.25 cubes is not going to be the end of the world. They're just recommending for best sound quality, most likely. See what tuning they recommend as well.
