Tuning 10's and 12's together?!?!?!?!

A guy I know has asked me to build a couple boxes for him. He has 2 JL Audio 10w3's and 2 12w3's. He insists that he wants all of them hooked up even after I explained about frequency distortion. I really dont care cuz im getting paid to make them:) . What I need to know is what can I tune the boxes to so the distortion is not bad. He is wanting the 12's tuned to 32 hz so what should I tune the 10's to? The dimensions available are 12s- 40"wide x 25" deep x 14" tall 10s- 36" wide x 12" deep x 14"tall. Any suggestions?

why tuned so low? depending on how it is all setup, he could use the 10"s for upper frequencies. that requires some intricate box design and crossover work though.

If he's truely your friend, you'll insist that you won't design him an enclosure for the two different sizes. Don't screw your friend over by embedding his horrible idea and lack of knowledge.

Hes not really a friend. Put my subs for sale on craigs list. I delivered and he asked if I build enclosures. I said yes I do. He explained what he wanted. I said you would be better off doing 2 12's, sell the 10's and get more 12's. He insisted that he wanted this setup. Once again I insisted it would sound like ***. If I truly was just wanting money, I would not be trying to figure out how to make it sound decent with the stuff he wants to use

Its even worse on ROE cuz their actually giving him real answers...i wont post the link but do go an look for urselves
it's not so much that.

if a person comes into a shop and says i want this done. you may advise against, but if they're set on it, you have one of two options. install it, take their money. or send them off elsewhere and not make any cash.

It's not a real answer, but working with what you're given. It nowhere near an ideal setup, and will in 95% of cases sound like absolute crap, but let the kid who wants it installed figure that out on his own.

10's in one enclosure, 12's in another, tune them both to 32 hz, turn down the gain on the 10's until they all distort somewhat the same, and give him his ghetofied glory rig. I'm sure he'll feel real cool.
