I'm pretty sure im going with these for my 00 bmw 528i, i will most likely get an amp for them, but im not sure how many watts i need. It says max of 180, but i read a review that said that was for the whole set not individual speakers, can someone help me out? im looking a jl audio amp 110watts/channel, would that be fine? or what- thanks

IIRC, they need about 50-60rms per side (woofer and tweeter) I run the 6.5" versions with about 50rms going to them and they get plenty loud and very clear.

if they are 180 max then they should be 90 RMS so 110 is fine... I have a JL 4ch FS if youd be interested as well?

Pioneer's max ratings are a good bit more than double rms.

Ok this is a noob question, but can i run a 4 channel amp to just one set of components(so that would only be using 2 channels, right?) and just not use the other 2 channels?(this would be in case later on i want to get some rear speakers as well)

Hahaha thanks guys, i love them, i have another question, all this is kind of confusing, can my factory amp power my rear speakers and have another amp powering my fronts and all connect to an aftermarket head unit?

I'd say disconnect the factory amp and run the fronts off your aftermarket amp, and at the very least, run the rears off the HU power. Depending on your stock rears you may be able to run them to your new amp too until you can replace.
