trying to power a pair of 1200Q's

heh.. you guys will crack up... but here goes... as you know the audiobahn's want 700 rms (4ohm DVC) for the 1200Q's..

I'm on a tight budget not wanting to spend more than 175... tops... (ya laugh away lol)

so I've come to this decision...

I know the pyramid is over powered but that is becuase everyone knows that they are overrated... and that is max.. so I'm thinking that only about half is true wattage. and I've read decent comments on the PA's.

as you can tell I'm on a very tight budget... any ideas?...

other amps would be nice to choose from also but don't want to go over price cap..

http://www.ikesound.com/product-product_id/1507 its 25 bucks more but worth it as you can keep it as you improve seriously it would be worth it. you can also look profiles but i think you wouldnt get exactly what you are looking for thus semi throwing money away for something that u wouldnt want.......look at it over the long haul not short term. short term fixxes always cost more

1300 watts rms is too much for the rating of those bahns so use it wisely and that hifonics is alot more powerful than either amp you put up there for subs. if that pyrimid put out 2400 watts rms ill eat it

heh ya.. the pyramid only dreams of that kind of power.. but if it's gotta get at least 1400 or more.. if it can then it's at a great price..

i have an audiobahn a2502dp that will do 1500 @ 1 ohm and 1000 @ 2ohm and 500 @ 4ohm, ill let it go for $200 shipped, its brand new in box never seen power

that pryrimid amp puts out 500w rms of clean power TOPS......

Pyramid, Pyle, Pyle Pro, Legacy, and Lanzar are all manufactured by a parent company in Brooklyn called Sound Around. For some reason (from my experience) Lanzar happens to be the only one in out of these with respectable amps for the money. The rest of the these companies products from sub,amps,speakers,head units, and other accessories, tend to be the lowest quality (it varies withing each specific product market) equipment amoung the car audio world.....

however these companies are great for simple products like dvd players, lcd screens, capacitors, distribution blocks..... an the only differance between my pyle 7.2inch lcd is a slight bit of glare but it saves you $$$ from buying a bigger name brand. a dvd player is a dvd player......a cap is a cap.........

i have faith in lanzar, but i would have to have a someone pointing a gun at me before i hook anything i have up to a pyramid amp.....

but hey thats just me

ya I know what you mean.. I've had the same setup in my truck for 4 years now.. can you believe I've been running a pair of Punch RFZ1412's for 4 years?.. and they still play like they are new.. heh.. although I've been only pushing them with a pyramid 1000w but still I haven't managed to hurt them in anyway.. just got the extra cash to try to step it up a notch. guess i should do it right... so I'm waiting on "chinny" here to get back with me on that amp so I can match them up..

don't think being slightly underpowered will be a problem since the amp is 500x 2 @ 2ohm RMS..

I had a pair of 1200Q's and ran them with an orion 1200D, It sounded really good with lots of spl. Ran that for about 3 months, then went with the 1500Q's, WOW. I ran that for another 3 months, needed the trunk space back so I just picked up a pair of type r 12's. I would say about 600 to 700 watts each.
