Trying to join the marines

that is the Army , the army will accept anyone but the marines are higher class and what not which they are also stricter about certain things you do or did

the marines may have a "higher standard" but they're still not up to par with the army.

the front lines in Iraq are 50/ 50 marines and army, but 90 percent of casualties are marines...

just a little fact. I still think i should have joined the airforce, but the marines is the last thing i would have joined.

Marines are the first to go to combat and last to go out, the army are just security in my point of view and either way if your going to die might as well die looking like a hero which i believe the marines have the best suits (not the only reason im joining) but the whole reason in joining the military is to protect and serve your country not to choose the easiest way out that is why im trying to join marines not the army

I tried to join every branch in the military a few years back, none would accept me because I have back problems and I was in a psychiatric type place for a year

apparently you are uninformed. The army does just as much work "combat" wise as marines do. I had a marine recruiter tell me that when i was looking into all the different branches. It doesn't matter what branch you choose or what your job is, you're still serving your country. If I die, i die, i don't want to be thought of as more of a hero than any of my brothers in the army, even if its the guy thats cooking my food, i'm no more of a hero than he is.

no disrespect to you but i still do believe the marines boot camp session and training is way more tougher then the army which will get your mind more strong and prepared to go out in combat and i know im not trying to look as a hero or anything to me the heros are the ones that gave there lives in that war not the people who come home but i have my opinions on which branch is the best and which is not that is why my first choice was to join the marines

Well i believe we are doing good in the war in iraq since we are trying to help the kids over there and you have a greater chance to die out here in the hood then over there since you atleast have somone watching your back unlike the streets

i never said it wasn't harder, it is, its a lot harder than army BCT, if you want to join the marines just to tell people or make them think your tough because your a marine, go ahead, its the wrong thing to do, but if thats what your heart desires, then do it.
