Trying to help my friend get his first setup in a Scion XB

He has no car audio experience and wants to hear some ideas from you guys. Basically he already has the head unit and speakers that he wants and just needs a 12 inch sub and amp combo that has decent sq, but can slam when needed.

I originally suggested either a SA12 or maybe a JL W3 or W6 or something, but don't know what amp to match it with. Basically I want any ideas on potential sub/amp combinations that can run on stock electrical and isn't going to be over 5 or 6 hundred bucks. Especially if you have any experience with how different subs sound in this specific car, let me know your opinion.

SA12 and a nice 600-800 watt amp and a nice custom enclosure would be a good start.

Sundown 1k would be a nice choice.. but a little pricey. If he is willing to buy used, post a WTB thread with how much power and at what coils your subs are and your budget and someone will sell ya a nice amp that fits your requirements. Just do a little research before making a purchase.

Or a bstock skar sk800 and a skar vvx12. They also have a deal where you can get the sub and a custom enclosure for cheap..maybe look into that.

My friend had a JL8W1 on rated power (150w) in a sealed box in her XB, I couldn't believe how loud that little low powered sub got lol

I'm sure he'll be happy with whatever you throw in there
