Trying to get Kicker CX600.1 amp to turn on

I have tested the remote wire, and the +12V wire (that runs to the battery), and both are showing up as having the correct voltage. One the amp, all that shows up is a constant red light, the green light does NOT turn on. Does the subwoofer have to be connected for the amp to turn on?

Specs:

Car: 1999 Lexus GS 300

Amp: Kicker CX600.1

Thanks for any help.

Nope. The green power light should be even if nothing is connected. And are you sure the constant red light isn't the protect mode indicator? Is this a Craigslist find? If the guy is willing take it somewhere to get it bench tested. Audio shops usually do it for 5-10 bucks and it'll save you some headaches.

It's brand new from BestBuy. I have had the exact same problem with two identical amps.
