Trying to get a job at This Caraudio shop (tips?)

That's crazy, the shops where I'm at are lookin for people bad. They asked me and a friend if we wanted a job and we have no experience at all. They said they'd be happy with a body to man the front. Guess it's just the area.
yeah over here business seems kinda slow in general.. economy ftl =/

How does the whole internship thing work? Just go in and say i wanna work as an intern untill they feel i am ready? How long could that possible last, a few days, weeks?
I dont want to get stuck at some shitty place where all they sell is crap but i guess sometime you need to work your way up.

I definately tried the good car stereo in my zip code and came up with lots of results within my city but many of the places are a good drive away.

How fast should a person be able to install a deck ,run cables and all that sorts of stuff?

I usually like to take my time since i have only worked on mine, and friends cars.

Onthe side note, found an add on craigslist of a part time job advertisement to go around to certain houses and take 4 pictures per house.. 10$ a house + pay for gas. Too good to be true?

---
Well if you are serious about wanting future position in a car audio shop just because you love that kind of work then your not ready. But internship is a great way to start, especially if you dont have a mecp. They wont pay someone that doesnt know how to do remote starts in a couple vehicles correctly and making it look like stock wires. But if you offer internship then you will get info like its candy on halloween. This may take a week or so, or maybe a month depending on how much you learn. but keep ya head up

HU - 8-23mins in an average car (gm, honda, etc)

Factory replacement speakers - 30m - 35m average cars

Alarm - 1h30m - 2h in average car

Oem Intergrated Remote Start - 1h30m - 1h45m

Alarm Remote Start - 2h - 4h depending on the car

all these are average times on average everday cars. SOme cars will obviously take longer

I don't plan on having a future as an installer, Im going to taking business, and business management and try to start up something of my own, not sure what yet.

Main reason of this job was to get me some funds up to/during college, im broke and have a shitty car and im dying to get another system going. Ever since i lost my old car i haven't had a stereo(1 year)

Well i got a camera and a portable gps So This might be nice in the meantime while i sort shit out.

Alright, those times don't seem too wild. If i was just doing a head unit/swap install, im sure i can get it within 20 min. As long as the dash isn't a ***** to take off.

Well then in your case I dont think a car audio shop will fit you. Nor this taking pix of houses is neither since you would have do drive alot putting alot of miles on your so called shitty car. But good luck though man.

I paid 500$ for the beast and its given me 10k miles on top of 140k already and its still holding up strong. I plan on driving it till it dies. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
