trying to figure out adding a sub to my system

First, I'm a newb at this stuff, hence why I'm asking these questions.

I currently have a 4 channel JBL GTO1004 going into JBL P660c components in the front(these are running at 2ohms). I have 2 channels left on my amp which I can bridge at 4 ohms for 320w RMS for a sub.

Now here are my questions..

1. Is it fine to run 2ohm components AND a 4ohm sub with one amp or will running the two different impedences damage something?

2. I mostly listen to fast paced metal, I'm getting a sub for better sound quality in my system, not to boom really loud and drown out the music. I require tight bass response and know I am going with a sealed box but am not sure whether to get an 8" or 10" sub, which would be better for this genre given the amp I am working with?

3. I'd love if you guys could recommend me some subs that might go good with my setup and go with what I want out of my system!

Oh, also I drive a Toyota Matrix hatchback, sub will be going behind my seat. budget is $300 for sub, box, cables, and installation.(I get a small discount from retail store prices)

why is it that you guys both suggest ported? From what I've read around the web, the general consensus seems to be that ported is for SPL which is something I don't want alot of for my sound.. I need accuracy.

Imagine listening to this:

would ported really be a good choice?

A well built ported box can sound just as good as a sealed box while having better low end and the ability to get louder. While it is a common misconception that ported boxes tend to be "boomy", this isn't true if you use a properly designed box.

on a budget like mine where can i find a properly designed box like that? I was just thinking I'd get a small sealed box at future shop or best buy just big enough for the sub as i have limited space in my car
