trunk work

so i wanna set up my trunk to look clean and simple. basically i want everything to look flush. prolly doin a single 12" 500 watts. nuthin major. my question is does anyone have tips into making the trunk look nice and flush.. i see them all the time, but dont see how they do it.

the key is to make your amp racks/boxes to hold your stuff and then just make a beauty panel (faceplate) to cover them

The box and the faceplate are separate. The box goes in first, then the faceplate.

this is not something that will be simple to do

its easy after practice. once the box is in and screwed down you can use cardboard to make a template. then use 1/4" board for the face. you can cut out holes in the face for amps/subs to show through. heres a pic of min i just finished yesterday.

there is a box w/2-12's and another battery hidden on the drivers side. both amps are screwed to the box.

i know my amp gets pretty hot during use, how do these kinds of setups fair in terms of amp cooling/ overheating?

so first the box goes in then the faceplate.. how do you fit in the faceplate to look flush.. is the plate glued to the box? or is there a trick for temporary use instead of making it permanent with glue?

i used a foam pad from walmart that is used for bedding, like the eggshell stuff. the top panel sits on the foam to prevent rattle. also the panel fits tight against the amps for stability. i used left over pieces of mdf underneath the edge to screw the bottom piece to the top piece. its like a ghetto L-bracket.

my highs never get hot but this is my first class d amp ive used. it hasnt even got warm on me yet. but i havent played it that long.
