Trunk rear Deck speaker question.

Ok so I have a 2003 honda civic and i have 6x9s in the rear and I am wondering if they are doing anything at all when my sub is playing?(they do work alright when it is not) Or are they just getting canceled out? would i have to enclose them to make them any worth while?

I am asking because I want to put some 6.5s in the rear deck and I feel like i will HAVE to enclose them for them to function properly.

In the civic trunks they are set up in a way that makes it near impossible to have enclosed speakers in the rear deck.

Just leave the ones u have alone or remove them. As far as doing an enclosure for them it’s just a bad idea most if not all full range speakers are meant to run without any type of enclosure. Plus you already stated when you’re playing ur music you can’t hear them anyways. Invest money somewhere else.

if your worried about cancelation of disruption, get some foam baffels. That will keep the bass waves from disrupting the 6x9 cone movment. Also if you have your 6x9 on a amp, you can cross them so that they blend. you can also build an enclosure around the 6x9.

I have 6.5s in my rear deck playing frequencys from 56 up to 500 and they are clearly noticeable now that I moved them above the carpet of the rear deck

so if i can not put baffles in i should just have has speakers back there? the idea of adding 6.5 if to drive more mid bass.

If you seal the holes, and deaden your front doors, it should increase your midbass response. That's what I would do before investing in rear fill upgrade.

my doors already have sooo much deadener in them. so adding rear 6.5 wont do much for me if they dont have a baffel?

They play fine now. You don't need to do anything.

Deaden your whole rear shelf too I noticed a difference when I did that
