Trunk Issues

I have a question for all you 4 door sedan owners. Which way do you normally point your subs in your trunk? I hear rear fireing sounds best, but then I heard something about fire through or something like that. If I understood it right it meant that you open the little port that goes from the trunk into the car, and shoot the sub through there. Is that right?

So how exactly do you set up the sub to fire through that whole? Obviously the sub wont line up perfectly with it, what do you do?

ive always set up systems that rear fire, but if u just have to fire them to the front here's what u gotta do:

Build a baffle to seal the trunk completely. in the baffle you need to cut holes that the subs can fire through... after that u gotta slide the box up to the baffle and screw it in place to keep it from moving out of line.

ive never actually done that, but according to what ive been told there should be minimal cancellation in the trunk and ur trunk shouldnt rattle even if u dont have deadener

my 2 cents

I have a civic 4 door and the sound bounces off of the trunk lid and back into the car. maybe you can get some mat to reflect the sound better?

Alright thanks. I thought rear firing was always best but I heard about the fire through and was interested in learning about it.
