My buddie has an alpine type r in a sealed box and a type s in a ported box, both prefab. He is telling me right now that he doesn't know anything about his amp but that it is running max power at 2000watts. I laughed at him and he got a little pissy. All i want to know is the true rms of this Legacy LA1990 2 channel amp because I'm a little confused, all i can fine is 2×1000 output 1×2000 bridged output, 2×175 output 2×260 bridged and something like 0.04×1000 output.

No issues there. The amp will output depending on the speaker's impedance rating. Are you using a component x-over or is only the tweeter with x-over?
